New Corporate Partners for Butterwick Hospice

Nine new Corporate Partners of Butterwick Hospice Care from all over the region were recognised at a reception on Friday, 14th May 2010.
About 100 business leaders attended the event, which took place at Rockliffe Hall, the new luxury hotel, spa and golf resort in Hurworth near Darlington.
Rockliffe Hall is one of the new partners and when receiving the partnership certificate its Managing Director, Nick Holmes, also announced that the Butterwick would be the destination’s chosen charity for its fundraising for the next year.
Mr Holmes said: ‘We are delighted to be in partnership with such a great local organisation, which supports local people, and the hotel’s charitable efforts for the next 12 months will be focused on benefiting the Butterwick Hospice.’
Many of the businesses who were represented are already corporate sponsors of the Butterwick, which has facilities in Stockton and Bishop Auckland and is a key employer in the area, with about 250 staff and 500 volunteers, supporting about 1,700 people and their families each year.
The keynote speaker was the Chief Executive of the North East Chamber of Commerce, James Ramsbotham, who spoke about how supporting the Butterwick can benefit both corporate and community sectors.
The Chief Executive of Butterwick Hospice Care, Graham Leggatt-Chidgey said: ‘Our corporate partnerships are very important to us, especially in these testing times, and they benefit both the hospice and the organisations. Being able to recognise nine new partners on Friday was significant and we are very grateful to them all.
‘We were particularly excited to hear Rockliffe Hall’s announcement that Butterwick will be their chosen charity partners for the coming year.’
The hospice provides free specialist palliative care in Teesside, County Durham, North Yorkshire and Wearside to those with life limiting illnesses and their families.
The reception is one of a series the Butterwick holds regionally to promote the benefits of partnerships and was compered by Sue Campbell, Director of Media Messages Limited, itself a Butterwick Corporate Partner.
The nine recipients were: Rockliffe Hall Hotel, Hertel UK Ltd of Middlesbrough, GrowHow of Billingham, Media Messages of Richmond, Calm Digital of Middlesbrough, K Home International of Thornaby, Leigh Cooper Associates of Darlington, Middlesbrough Football Club and Soundswright Ltd of Hartlepool.
