PD Ports sponsoring event with proceeds donated to Butterwick Hospice!
Companies seeking to combine corporate entertaining with supporting good causes are being urged to sign up to play cricket on Friday, 16 September at the Emirates Durham Test and International Cricket Ground.
PD Ports, the sponsor, is calling for teams of eight to join in the cricket tournament in aid of Butterwick Hospice Care. PD Ports, Esh Group, Eversheds, Sanderson Weatherall, Johnson Matthey and Cleaners for Causes have already booked their teams. If you would like to play cricket on a Test Ground there are still two team places available!
With eight teams participating each team will be guaranteed at least three matches consisting of eight overs per innings Celebrity cricketers will be in attendance. Both lunch and dinner are included in the £1000 entry fee per team.
Butterwick, which runs three hospices including one specifically for children, aims to improve the quality of life for those who have a life limiting illness and their families. It cares for 300 patients who receive care free of charge and is dependent on fund-raising to ensure it can continue its work.
David Robinson, PD Ports Group CEO, says: “We want to raise as much money as possible for this excellent cause and hope that other local and logistics companies will support this event.”
