 HERTEL BECOMES CORPORATE PARTNER OF

 BUTTERWICK HOSPICE CARE

 DATE: April 2008

Industrial services company Hertel (UK) has signed up to become a Corporate Partner of Butterwick Hospice Care.

The partnership scheme not only helps to raise valuable funds for the Butterwick Hospice, it also enables Hertel to be recognised for its support of the charity and helps to demonstrate good corporate social responsibility.

Hertel has had its UK head office based in Middlesbrough since 1975 and has a keen interest in supporting the Tees Valley community.

Butterwick Hospice Care incorporates Butterwick Hospice in Stockton, Butterwick House Children’s Hospice and Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland, serving the communities of Teesside, County Durham, North Yorkshire and Wearside.

The aim of the hospice is ‘to improve the quality of life for those who have a progressive life limiting illness and those close to them, and to offer positive support for every challenge they may encounter during their illness and to see death as part of life’s journey’

John Potts, Hertel (UK)’s Operations Director, said: “Butterwick Hospice Care is an extremely worthwhile charity. We all have links with friends or family who have drawn on Butterwick’s services in the past and the reality is we will all have a link in some way to those same services in the future, so Hertel feels it is a valuable resource in the community and deserves our support. The Corporate Partnership programme is an excellent way for businesses across the region to get involved in helping the work the hospice carries out.”

Anne Cooling, Butterwick Hospice Care, Head of Corporate Development, said: “We are delighted to welcome Hertel (UK) Ltd as a Corporate Partner and we are very grateful for their commitment to Butterwick Hospice which provides invaluable end of life care to local people. Hertel (UK)’s corporate involvement in the funding of Butterwick demonstrates the Companies involvement in corporate social responsibility. We hope this generous donation to a vital local charity will impress not only staff and customers but also shareholders and competitors too.”

Anyone interested in more information about the benefits of the Corporate Partnership Scheme should contact Anne Cooling on 01642 628930 or email annecooling@butterwick.org.uk.
